All about travel

I have been getting a lot of questions about travel lately! Sooooo let’s clear that up.

I am live in the beautiful Flint Hills of Manhattan, Kansas. If you haven’t been here, totally recommend. Small town feel one of the larger cities of Kansas. Lots of great food, and the scenery is top notch.

As much as I love Manhattan, I love to travel, too! So far I’ve been to most of the US, Canada, Mexico, and my favorite, Jamaica. I’ve even shot out of state weddings, two of which have been in Colorado! I’m never opposed to crossing new locations off the list.

I do charge mileage anywhere past Manhattan. Industry standard is 0.58 cents a mile. If it’s more than a three hour drive, I get a hotel room the night of the wedding. Lodging is also covered by the client. If it’s more than an 8 hour drive, I typically fly. Or if it’s cheaper to fly I’ll fly. (Even though it’s a total pain in the ass to pull all of my equipment out). Flights and lodging are covered by the client.

My next big travel plans are to attend a workshop hosted by Rich Lander (if you don’t know him is a phenomenal wedding photgrapher and #GOALS) in California! Can’t wait to learn all the things and ultimately serve my brides better!
